OUR STORY
I Would love to introduce myself! My name is Michael Conrad Tavarez. I am originally from New York and moved to Dallas back in October of 2016. Both my parents are from Dominican Republic and i grew up eating delicious Dominican Food everyday!!! In Dominican Republic when we have parties we create platters of Dominican street food called Picadera. Picadera is meant to be shared and eaten with your friends and family at events, on the streets, at parties etc. Hence our name PICADERA. When i moved to Dallas i noticed that there is NOT ONE Dominican restaurant around. I started to miss my culture and the food i grew up eating. Many of you are probably wondering why my photo says #iamnotachef and the reason for that is, frankly i am not a chef. What i am though is passionate bringing my culture to Dallas. In the last couple of years i have taught myself how to make popular Dominican street foods and also have asked my mother for a bunch of her recipes, tips & tricks!!! They say necessity is the mother of invention and Dallas needs some delicious Dominican food. I believe that in life if you dream of doing something great and put your all into it, you can achieve success. I hope Dallas receives my Dominican food with open arms and enjoys new flavors and food they can't find around here, til now. Yes other people have empanadas BUT they don't have Dominican empanadas. The flavors of Dominican Republic are just soooo good and i can't wait to feed all of you!!! I introduce to you PICADERA DFW!!! See you all VERY SOON =)
